Gear Up For The 2009 NBA Playoffs

Game 6: Lebron Classless James

May 31st, 2009 at 4:09 pm

Not surprised the Magic beat the Cavs at home at all. Not too surprised the Magic won the series. Not surprised the Cavs had no answer for Dwight Howard in the paint, which led to the Magic lighting it up from 3 point land.

Cavaliers vs. Magic

I am surprised the Magic bench dominated the Cav’s bench throughout the entire series. I am surprised Mo Williams didn’t torch the Magic guards like all guards have done this season. I’m surprised Stan Van Gundy made as many good adjustments as he did during the series.

But what really surprised me was how classless Lebron James was after it was all over. No shaking hands, no comments and no press conference. What a little bitch. I LIKED Lebron too and still think he’s an awesome player, but that was bad for the NBA and especially bad for all kids that look at Lebron James as a role model, which up until this point I thought he was doing very well. Sorry to say, but Lebron James is just like every other superstar when things don’t go his way. It had the same effect as John McConroe, but Lebron did it by not saying a word. It was something I expect from Stephon Marbury, Isiah Thomas or Kobe Bryant, but not Lebron. Even in the most brutal, mean, nasty, hateful playoffs on earth, the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, the players always shake hands at center ice.

I’m sure in a few days Lebron will come and out try to control the damage. Maybe Nike can do another stupid puppet commercial were Lebron puppet throws baby powder in the air and apologizes to NBA fans, Orlando Magic and to all the kids that look up to him.

Enough of Lebron, he’s gone and been put to the curb like the bitch he is. It’s time to focus on Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. I’ll say it now, I think the Magic will walk away with the title and be NBA champs, but I also think Kobe has much more desire to win than Lebron. You may laugh, but you’re probably the same fans that thought they would lose to the Cavs and how did that work out for you.

No, not really. I think this will haunt Queen James for a long time. The greatest player ever took a beat down from the Pistons for years and never pulled any bullshit like that and then when the Pistons lost and walked off the court against the Bulls without shaking hands it was classless too. Going forward the Pistons were the Bulls and MJ's bitch.
  • Don't we think we are being a little hyper-critical of Lebron James here? I agree he should have done the interviews and shook hands with the other team to show good sportsmanship. However, James is right when someone kicks your ass you don't shake their hand and say thanks for the beating. Besides, they are shake hands before the games and do 20 interviews a week. Whatever happened to the late 80's early 90's Detroit Pistons mentality of hating your opponent?

I think Kobe would shake hands, but he's still piece of shit for other acts he's done. I'd have to agree with your grandfather and his good advice and/or words of wisdom.

My only question is why would you expect that kind of behavior from Kobe? As a fierce competitor he has never acted like that, even after some of the most disappointing losses in his career. Face the fact, Prince James carefully crafted image, is just that -- image. My grandfather always said you will see the real character when pressure is applied. LeBron was just exposed for who he really is.

Don't be bitter with your win, please. If ESPN says LeBron was the real winner, then obviously, he is.
